About SlateMate
Made by actors, for actors.
SlateMate is an iPhone app that helps you get ready for auditions and learn something from every one. Check in before you tape, learn your lines, run the scene with AI voices, talk it through with Slate, and look back on how it went.
Why it exists
Walk in calm. Walk out a little wiser.
So much of auditioning happens on your own: learning the sides, finding someone to read with, pressing record, and wondering afterwards how it really went. SlateMate is made for those moments.
It's about walking into every audition calm, prepared and confident, and learning something from each one. It isn't about bookings. You can't control what happens in the casting office, so SlateMate focuses on how it felt and what you learned, not on whether you booked it.
Over time, your reflections turn into insights: what helps you settle in, how much prep you need, and a few notes for next time.
What we believe
An audition can go well without a booking.
You can show up calm, prepared and a little wiser each time. That's the part SlateMate helps with.
How we build it
A trusted notebook, not homework.
- [1] Quick
Minutes, not hours
A check-in takes about a minute. Logging an audition and reflecting on it takes a couple more, with taps instead of essays.
- [2] Calm
No pressure
No points and no scores. Clear next steps, and kind words on the harder days.
- [3] Private
Yours alone
No ads, no selling, no tracking. The app asks before it uses AI, and you can delete anything. Your data →
- [4] Honest
Clear about AI
Slate and the scene partner's voices are AI, not people, and the app says so. Slate is a coach, not a therapist.
